Thank you for your interest in joining MEMO! You will be automatically enrolled in our weekly newsletter if you filled out an interest form or signed in to our GM. This is where we will be providing important updates regarding MEMO’s general meetings, socials, inter-chapter events, healthcare-related service opportunities, and more!
General Meetings ⭐️
Mark your calendars! MEMO general meetings start Week 2 and will take place on Thursdays, 5-6PM, every even week of the quarter. To further expand your skills and healthcare knowledge, we will be having interactive hands-on workshops, guest speakers, and more throughout the year!
WHEN: Thursday @ 5PM-6PM (even weeks)
WHERE: Ackerman Union Viewpoint Conference Rooms 1&2 (located on A-level of Ackerman Student Union)
Be sure to follow our Instagram (@ucla_memo) to get updated on any changes to our meetings.
GM #1 RECAP
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first GM! We were so glad to meet everyone and introduce you to the exciting events we have planned for the school year.
MEMO ACTIVE REQUIREMENTS:
Attend 3 out of 5 general meetings
Attend at least 1 outreach/ service event
Attend at least 1 social/ fundraiser
Pay a $10 Club Membership Fee. This includes a free MEMO T-shirt that could be worn to events!
(RECOMMENDED): Attend nonprofit/ inter-chapter events

Vitals Training
Interested in learning how to measure blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood cholesterol? Vitals training will be perfect for you! This is a hands-on workshop where you will be trained in how to take essential vitals! This training will be required for those interested in volunteering for our health fairs. One Community (OC) Health Fair
In collaboration with VPASC (Vietnamese Physicians Association of Southern California), MEMO will be hosting our annual health fair, where you can gain hands-on experience working alongside healthcare professionals while making a difference in an underserved community!
Sign ups are now live and can be found HERE.

Lestonnac Free Clinic Volunteer
Interested in gaining clinical experience this Fall Quarter? Lestonnac Free Clinic has given MEMO the opportunity to volunteer as a back/ front office medical assistant at their clinic in Orange. Volunteers will be required to commit to at least one of the below shifts for the duration of Fall Quarter beginning in November.
WHEN: REQUIREMENTS: Must be a PAID and highly dedicated MEMOber. You must also be able to provide your own transportation to each shift at the clinic in Orange. |  |

Inter-Chapter Pen Pal Program
Want to meet and connect with MEMObers from other chapters? Sign up for our Inter-Chapter Pen Pal Program! You will be paired with a fellow MEMOber from another chapter (UCSD, UCI, or USC), where you will be making exchanges via email to share individual experiences to ultimately build meaningful connections. You can sign up for the program HERE! |  |
Craving a sweet treat? Our Just Boba fundraiser will be perfect for you! The fundraiser will last for the whole day on Thurs 10/23, but we will also be walking to Just Boba together as a group after GM #2! This is a great chance to meet other MEMObers and also board members. Hope to see you all there! |  |

Service Events🏥
Project Angel Food — UCLA x USC MEMO
Project Angel Food is an organization that provides medically-tailored meals to individuals facing life-threatening illnesses within the LA county. Volunteers will be providing assistance in the kitchen, preparing meals for the critically ill.
We will be collaborating with USC MEMO for this volunteering event! If interested in joining us and meeting MEMObers from another chapter, you can sign up HERE.
WHEN: Saturday, October 18th from 8AM-12PM
WHERE: 230 W Ave 26, Los Angeles, CA 90031 (Transportation will be provided!)
