I hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled Halloweekend 👻 We are already heading into Week 6 of Fall Quarter, but don’t worry as we still have lots of events planned for our amazing MEMObers! Here are all the important updates you should know regarding MEMO’s general meetings, socials, inter-chapter events, healthcare-related service opportunities, and more!
Active Membership Requirements
Attend 3 out of 5 general meetings
Attend at least 1 outreach/ service event
Attend at least 1 social/ fundraiser
Pay a $10 Club Membership Fee. This includes a free MEMO T-shirt that could be worn to events!
(RECOMMENDED): Attend nonprofit/ inter-chapter events

General Meetings ⭐️
Mark your calendars! MEMO general meetings start Week 2 and will take place on Thursdays, 5-6PM, every even week of the quarter. To further expand your skills and healthcare knowledge, we will be having interactive hands-on workshops, guest speakers, and more throughout the year!
WHEN: Thursday @ 5PM-6PM (even weeks)
WHERE: Ackerman Union Viewpoint Conference Rooms 1&2 (located on A-level of Ackerman Student Union)

GM #3 — Careers in Healthcare Workshop
Explore the different career paths in the healthcare field at our next GM this Thursday, on November 6th at 5-6PM! We will be sharing an overview of the diverse career options in healthcare and the requirements for each respective program.
You will have the opportunity to network with upperclassman pursuing different pathways (MD/DO, MD/PHD, Dentistry, PA) and ask any questions that you may have! This will be a great chance to gain insight on the many professional health careers that exist and meet others with similar career goals!
WHEN: Thursday @ 5PM-6PM
WHERE: Ackerman Union Viewpoint Conference Rooms 1&2 (located on A-level of Ackerman Student Union)
MEMO Updates & Events 📝
✨ Big & Little Program ✨
We will be launching our Big & Little Program, where you will have the chance to be paired with a UCLA student that will serve as both a mentor and friend! This would be a great chance to meet someone who can provide valuable academic, professional, or personal insight to your college career! People of all years or majors are encouraged to sign up!

Panda Express Fundraiser 🐼
We will be having another fundraiser at Panda Express, where you can order yourself a hearty and delicious meal at any location near you! UCLA MEMObers that attend our fundraiser will receive PRIORITY sign-up for our volunteer events!
Be sure that you apply the code 9008006 in the Fundraiser Code box. Note that this applies to online orders only, but you will be able to pick it up in-store!

RECAP: St. James Great Food Soup Kitchen
This past Saturday, UCLA MEMObers volunteered at the soup kitchen at St. James, where we were able to support low-income neighbors & people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers assisted in serving nutritious meals, distributing hygiene products, and running the clothing drive for our service recipients.
A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered with us! If you weren’t able to make it this time around, don’t worry as there will be many more opportunities to come!

Upcoming Service Events🏥
Health Education Workshop at Westwood Transitional Village
Interested in joining our outreach team in planning and presenting an engaging, yet informative workshop on a health & wellness topic to the kids at Westwood Transitional Village? This event would be perfect for you!
The Salvation Army Westwood Transitional Village is a nonprofit organization that provides child care and shelter for homeless families and families of veterans in Los Angeles County. You will have the opportunity to enrich the knowledge of low-income families enrolled in a transitional housing program.
To make an impact in spreading health awareness to our future generations, you can sign-up HERE.

WHERE: Westwood Transitional Village, 1401 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA (Transportation will be provided!)
Free Health Clinic with Health by Wealth
Want to experience what it’s like at a Free Health Clinic where services such as vaccines, teeth cleanings, filling extractions, internal medicine & cardiology consultations, acupuncture, and more are provided for recipients? Join UCLA MEMO in volunteering with Health by Wealth in their upcoming full-scale health clinic.
MEMObers will be serving as general volunteers, where we will help with various tasks including patient registration, patient escorting, and clinic flow management throughout the vaccine sites and health clinic.
