Happy Week 7 MEMObers! We hope you finished midterms and had a restful week. We have lots of exciting events planned for you all so read more for additional details!
Active Membership Requirements
Attend 3 out of 5 general meetings
Attend at least 1 outreach/ service event
Attend at least 1 social/ fundraiser
Pay a $10 Club Membership Fee. This includes a free MEMO T-shirt that could be worn to events!
(RECOMMENDED): Attend nonprofit/ inter-chapter events

JOIN OUR GROUPME!
We created a new GroupMe for the 2025-26 academic year. We encourage you all to join to gain access to important MEMO updates or ask any questions you may have!
General Meetings āļø
Mark your calendars! MEMO general meetings start Week 2 and will take place on Thursdays, 5-6PM, every even week of the quarter. To further expand your skills and healthcare knowledge, we will be having interactive hands-on workshops, guest speakers, and more throughout the year!
WHEN: Thursday @ 5PM-6PM (even weeks)
WHERE: Ackerman Union Viewpoint Conference Rooms 1&2 (located on A-level of Ackerman Student Union)

We hope you all got to learn about the different career paths in healthcare this week! If you are interested in connecting with upperclassman pursuing different pathways (MD/DO, MD/PHD, Dentistry, PA) on a deeper level, you can join our Big & Little program (š) ā more details below!

āØ Big & Little Program āØ
We will be launching our Big & Little Program, where you will have the chance to be paired with a UCLA student that will serve as both a mentor and friend! This would be a great chance to meet someone who can provide valuable academic, professional, or personal insight to your college career! People of all years or majors are encouraged to sign up!

Big & Little Pairings will be taking place this week, but we will keep the form open for those who may still be interested. Be sure to fill out the form ASAP!
UCLA MEMO Social ā Game Night & Grubs š„³
GET EXCITED as we will be having our first official social as a UCLA Chapter! Join us in getting to know other MEMObers through fun games and activities. (Did I mention that we will also be making ChĆØ ThĆ”i together š) If youāre looking to meet other people from our chapter in a relaxed setting (or simply want to try some Vietnamese ChĆØ ThĆ”i) be sure to join us this Thursday! šŗ WHEN: Thursday, November 13th @ 7PM |  |
Fall Inter-Chapter Social (ICS) š
The leaves are falling and temperatures are droppingā¦ meaning itās officially sweater weather! Get ready for a fun-filled day of activities and MEMOries where you will be hanging out with fellow MEMObers from our sister chapters (UCI, UCSD, USC) š«¶ Ready to discover new friends, reconnect with familiar faces, or even meet our Board of Directors (BOD)? RECAP: MEMO x HAPY Health Fair
This Saturday, UCLA MEMObers volunteered at the Westwood Transitional Village, where we provided free vision and blood pressure (BP) screenings to the families residing at transitional housing facilities. We were able to assist many families of veterans, non-veterans, and former foster children!
A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered with us. You were able to make a huge difference in the community, and it wouldnāt have been possible without your help! If you werenāt able to make it this time around, donāt worry as there will be many more opportunities to come :)

Upcoming Service Events š„
Health Education Workshop at Westwood Transitional Village
Interested in joining our outreach team in planning and presenting an engaging, yet informative workshop on a health & wellness topic to the kids at Westwood Transitional Village? This event would be perfect for you!
The Salvation Army Westwood Transitional Village is a nonprofit organization that provides child care and shelter for homeless families and families of veterans in LA County. You will have the opportunity to enrich the knowledge of low-income families enrolled in a transitional housing program.

WHERE: Westwood Transitional Village, 1401 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA (Transportation will be provided!)
Free Health Clinic with Wealth by Health
Want to experience what itās like at a Free Health Clinic where services such as vaccines, teeth cleanings, filling extractions, internal medicine & cardiology consultations, acupuncture, and more are provided for recipients? Join UCLA MEMO in volunteering with Wealth by Health in their upcoming full-scale health clinic.
MEMObers will be serving as general volunteers, where we will help with various tasks including patient registration, patient escorting, and clinic flow management throughout the vaccine sites and health clinic.
